    Information Services JSC provide 10 computer halls for Bulgarian schools

    . 

    Traditionally the company provides the schools with available computers that are not needed for its operational activities.

    In the past year IS JSC equipted schools in Sliven, Radomir, Zlatograd and Devin, and in the villages of Smilyan, Trun, Momchilovci, Dolen, Erma river and Lozen.

    They received a total of 82 laptops, 15 printers and 12 scanners.

    Daskal.eu endorsed by Facebook's acceleration program

    The Bulgarian educational platform Daskal.eu was included in FbStart, Facebook's program  supporting startups.

    The invitation to participate has come after the Web Summit, international event for innovation and start-up entrepreneurs, held in November in Lisbon where the company was selected to present its project to investors. After the successful participation in the forum, the Bulgarian team was advised to apply for the FbStart programm and afterwords the application has been approved.

    20 million Euro for the development of clusters in Bulgaria

    .

    The total budget for the procedure "Development of clusters in Bulgaria" is 20 milion Euro. The funding comes from the European Regional Development Fund /17 million Euro/ and national co-funding of the remaining 3 million Euro.

    Applications are acceppted until 28th of April. Eligible candidates for the procedure are groups categorized for the purposes of the procedure by the Executive Agency for Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises as clusters in the early stages of development, developing clusters or developed clusters.

    The submission of documents for categorization will be valid untill the 30th of January.

    Alterko equips Bulgarian Red Cross's rescue-dogs with tracking devices

    23 rescue-dogs of the Mountain Rescue Service have been equipped with tracking devices by Alterko Robotics.

    According to the Bulgarian company, the smart straps will increase not only the safety of the dogs, but the resque campaigns held monthly by the MRS.

    The devices work with SIM cards, which are provided free of charge by Mtel.

    Paysafe Bulgaria's office is among the 25 most popular offices in the world

    According to the traditional ranking of the 25 most popular offices, made by Office Snapshots, Paysafe Bulgaria is ranked seventh in the world.

    The ranking announced this month, includes companies like Dropbox (Austin, Texas) /8th/, Red Bull (Stockholm, Sweden) /9th/ and Google (Cambridge, Massachusetts) /11th/.

    Paysafe moved into its new office in Sofia at the end of 2015. Currently over 800 employees work  there covering five floors in Capital Fort - one of the most modern office buildings in Sofia.

    The interior design of the new office is administered by the Sofia studio for design and architecture - Cachè Atelier.

    Vivacom gets GWS certificate for 4G network

    .

    Vivacom announced that their 4G network has the highest overall score in GWS OneScore. The measurements were made by the Dallas based company Global Wireless Solutions (GWS) for the period 15.10.16 – 15.11.16.

    Last October Telenor Bulgaria got certificate for the fastest mobile network, citing a study of Ookla, using tests launched by the users themselves.

    CBN: Revenues of Bulgarian IT industry hits 631% growth for a decade

    .

    According to CBN, in 2006 the IT in Bulgaria emploied 4982 people, today the number is 19 755.

    This means that the growth for the last 10 years is 296.5%. As for the revenues, they have increased from 139.4 mln. Euros in 2006 to 1.02 billion. Euros.

    The comparison includes the 10 years since the country is member of the European Union.

    Atos buys the Bulgarian company Info Partner and establishes local service center in food processing

    The service provider for IT transformation Atos announced that the 100% acquisition of the Bulgarian company Info Partner Ltd., specializing in SAP solutions and developing commercial storage software.

    The company is the main supplier of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company and will serve as the basis for the construction of a Global Competence Centre for Food Industry (HVP) in Bulgaria.

    Secondary school "Elin Pelin" has an operational virtual classroom

    .

    The cold weather in Bulgaria extended student's vacations until the 11th of January threatening with lagging in the curriculum. The Sofia based "Elin Pelin" secondary school have found a solution based on cloud technologies. Through virtual link the teachers maintained contact with students, thus they could catch up with the material.

    New cloud technologies enable students and teachers to access materials and tasks anytime from anywhere.

    SoftServe Bulgaria LTD, provider of IT services and analyses in software marketing is given class "A" investment certificate. The investment is for complex analyses of software development. Its assests total value amounts to nearly 1 280 mln BGN and will open 180 new jobs.

    Online train tickets purchase systems certified

    .

    Information Service's sytem for online purchase of train tickets was officially certified by the Bulgarian Metrology Institute, according to the IT company.

    The centralized system for issuing tickets and reservations in real-time using the services of the Bulgarian Railways is developed by Information Services and is used in all railway stations and agencies in the country. Tickets can now be bought on board all trains in Bulgaria. It is accessible from anywhere in the world.

    Bulgarian pupils win 63 medals in World and Balkan competitions in 2016

    .

    In 2016, Bulgarian students have won a total of 63 medals in international competitions.

    Six of them are from the International Mathematical Olympiad, 4 - in physics, 7 in chemistry, 3 in biology, 3 in informatics, 5 in mathematical linguistics, 7 in astronomy, 6 in the European Olympiad in natural sciences, 12 from the Balkan mathematics and 8 from the Balkan Informatics (senior and junior).

    Ontotext creates platform for cognitive analysis of media content

    The Bulgarian company for semantic software Ontotext togather with Videntifier from Iceland and Semantic Interactive, another Bulgarian company, have won funding under the EUREKA / Eurostars-2 programme.

    Their "EVALA" project is aimed at creating an automated platform for cognitive assessment and semantic links and analysis of media content. In addition to media and media analysts, it will target PR agencies and consultants, international content aggregators, small and medium companies, analyzing their media presence and etc.

    Applications for the BAIT awards to be submitted until 16th of January

    There are 2 more weeks until the deadline for registration for the competition "BAIT awards 2016".

    So far, there are 27 enties. Registration will be open until 24.00 pm on the 16th of January, 2017. Registration is free of charge.

    The competition is open to all companies in the ICT sector, registered under the Bulgarian trading law.
